🔎 How I became a UX writer

For five years, I worked in travel and tourism as a copywriter and scuba diving instructor. It may sound unconventional, but this taught me how important user experience is. I empathized with my students and learned how to teach complex (often nerve-racking) processes to people with different backgrounds and skill levels.

After working as a scuba diving instructor for five years, writing became something I wanted to pursue more seriously. In January 2022, I made the leap and enrolled in the UX Writing Academy by UX Writing Hub. After graduating from UXWA, I developed my own Medium channel, worked on fintech and e-commerce UX writing projects, and landed UX writing roles at major U.S. and international companies.

The more I learn about UX writing, the more I can’t believe this career path exists. It’s an ideal blend of psychology, understanding human behavior, creating thoughtful content, and telling stories in creative ways that help people and make life more enjoyable.
